The future looks bright for Netflix, with analysts forecasting that the streaming service’s subscriber base will grow by a staggering 80% in 2017.
The company’s total subscriber base was about 22.5 million at the end of last year.
That number jumped to about 26.8 million in 2018, according to an August report by research firm eib Networks.
The firm expects that figure to jump to 31.4 million in 2019.
In its report, eib said Netflix’s subscriber growth rate in 2018 was up 20.9%, or nearly 1.3 million, from the previous year.
It also said its average daily active users (ADPU) fell 7.4%, or 1.5%, from the year before.
The analyst also noted that its subscriber base has increased by more than 20 million in 2017 from a year earlier.
That means Netflix now has more than 3.7 million subscribers.
Eib Networks expects Netflix to add about 3.8 billion subscribers by 2020.
The company will also add about 7.6 billion in total in 2019, and 3.2 billion in 2020, it added.
