The new season of “The Dish Network” will premiere Wednesday night on Dish Network, but you may not be able to watch it there.
Dish said Wednesday that it will not stream the game.
Dish said the network will not simulcast the game on Dish Networks’ streaming service, Dish SportsGo, and Dish will not carry it on Dish channels.
Dish Networks, which has been working with the NFL to stream games on mobile devices, said in a statement that it does not have a simulcast agreement with the league.
“We are very proud of our partnership with the New England Patriots, who represent our fans in the most iconic game of the year,” Dish Networks Chief Executive Greg Creed said in the statement.
“The new season is about to begin, and we are excited to provide our fans with the most exciting football action of the season.”
A number of streaming services have agreed to stream the New York Giants-Green Bay Packers game on Thursday.
The game is being simulcast on DirecTV’s DVR service, while Hulu and Amazon Prime are also working to stream it.DISH’s move to block the game from streaming is another example of the company’s growing partnership with NFL.
The NFL is the biggest TV advertiser for Dish, and the two sides recently signed a $500 million contract to develop an NFL app.
Last week, Dish Networks announced it would spend $10 million to help the league develop a video platform for its players.
The company said that $10.4 million would go toward developing an app that can stream video from NFL games to a device.
