New York’s DineEquity, the new premium cable channel, will launch its first show on the Dish Network on Friday, with a full season planned.
The show, titled “One News,” will follow the “most talked about” sports personalities in sports as they cover the news from around the world.
“Our goal is to bring the sports media community closer together,” DineEsquity’s chief content officer and CEO, Mike Cernovich, said in a statement.
The new show, which will premiere on Friday nights, will be available on Dish Network’s YouTube channel and Dish’s website.
The channel’s first episode will be called “The Show,” and will air on the morning of Jan. 26, with “The One News” airing live from New York City.
Dine Esquity is one of the few cable networks to offer a live sports channel, which it has in partnership with ESPN.
The sports channel will be similar to ESPN’s coverage of the NFL playoffs.
Dish will be the first network to have a live sporting event with its own digital platform, but it is not yet clear how many sports events will be on the channel.
The network will also offer its own programming in-house, including sports-related documentaries, sports-themed TV shows, sports specials and the “Sports Guy” podcast.
