A reader who bought an iPhone 8 for $999 last month has been offered a free upgrade to an iPhoneX from Apple, as the company looks to cut down on the cost of making new iPhones.
The deal, first spotted by MacRumors, was first spotted online by MacStories.
The buyer is a Singaporean student, who wrote that the new device has been upgraded to an Apple device with “100% 100% better specs than my iPhone X”.
The iPhoneX has been an iPhone for nearly five years now, but Apple has seen an uptick in the number of iPhone Xs and Xs Max handsets launched in the US.
Apple has yet to confirm if the iPhoneX will be sold in the United States.
However, reports from AppleInsider suggest the iPhone X will be available for purchase in the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.
The company has already launched an iOS 10 update to iOS 10.3.1, which has improved performance and stability, along with the introduction of a number of new features.
