A new set of community health network packages could help millions of people in India with chronic diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes get access to community healthcare, but the delivery model will need to be scaled up to meet the needs of a rapidly growing country with a rapidly expanding population.
Community health networks, or CCHNs, are community-based services that provide essential health services to people living with chronic illnesses.CCHNs are a growing market in India, with nearly 50 million people in the country having received a CCHN.
However, they face some challenges to access.
India currently lacks a robust, universal healthcare delivery model, which has limited the availability of CCHNS in many areas.
A new initiative by a group of researchers, known as the Indian Council of Cancers (ICC), is hoping to solve that problem.
The initiative, which will be presented at the International Conference on Chronic Diseases in Delhi, aims to develop a model that will help improve access to CCHns.
The CCHNI is an initiative of the Indian government-run National Center for Health Research (NCHR) and aims to accelerate the growth of CCTDs and other chronic diseases by offering a new set.
“We are hoping to help people with CCHDs and all other chronic conditions in India by delivering a CCTD package and community health packages,” said Anand Patil, professor of healthcare engineering at ICC.
“This is a model of delivery that can be scaled and tailored to meet all of the needs, including the growth and needs of the country.”
Patil said the model can be tailored to address a number of different issues, including access to primary healthcare, rural healthcare, primary prevention and primary health care, as well as providing a comprehensive CCHNP package.
“It is a very novel approach to provide community health care and a new way of delivery of services for the population,” he added.
The researchers said that they hope to work with local government bodies to design CCHI packages that address specific needs in their respective areas, with the aim of reaching more people.
“The model should be scalable, which means that the delivery of the CCHCI should be affordable,” Patil said.
Patil told Al Jazeera that the initiative aims to provide a more cost-effective approach to CCTCs, especially as CCHIs are a relatively new development.
“For example, the model could be developed for rural and urban areas.
We can see that the cost of CTCDs can vary from one area to another,” he said.
In a previous report, the researchers noted that the current CCH network packages offered only limited coverage to rural areas and limited access to rural primary care.
The current model, they noted, would not meet the healthcare needs of people living in cities or the urban poor.”CCHI is a highly fragmented model.
There is no universal service, there is no standardised package, there are no clear guidelines for providing quality CCHs and delivery of these services,” Patit said.”
All these factors combine to make it a challenging model for providing care to people in rural areas.
This is a key challenge to this model and it is not new.”
The new model could also have a significant impact on how the government plans to respond to CTCD epidemics.
Patit said the government could also set up CCHi units in the city for CCTIs, where there are a large number of people who have a disability or have a medical condition.
“If the government has an existing CCH unit, that would be the ideal option,” he explained.
“They would set up one CCH in the centre and the rest of the rural CCHCs would have to be spread out in other parts of the city.
That is a different approach than the current one which does not cover the urban centres.”
Patit believes the government can set up an effective CCHM to meet demand, and he hopes the new model will help solve the problem of CCSDs in the Indian context.
“I think this will be a big win for India,” he concluded.
“There are a lot of people with chronic conditions who are waiting for their CCH packages.
It is going to be a very difficult and long process to find a solution for them.”
